Reading and writing skills of students develop with rich oral and written studies. These studies are important on the development of reading comprehension and vocabulary development. The results of the research have proved that these skills are critical for the development of literacy and they be developed in accordance with students' language level and needs. This study was conducted with hearing impaired college students at Anadolu University School for The Handicapped. Poetry writing process and feature of their poems that carried out with the ‘Creative Writing Model’ will be describe. Activate prior knowledge, predicting, querying for reading comprehension, questioning the meaning of the new text to associate with the earlier, inferring, questioning, defining and modeling strategies are used in the courses which they have performed with Balanced Litercy Instruction Approach. In this research had been observed that the students came ready to write poetry and increased motivation and of the courses. Giving real purposes in the writing process for students is considered to be effective.
