Auxiliary Materials Used in Violin Education

Abstract

It is thought that individuals who receive violin education or who are at the beginning stage of violin education will need auxiliary materials to grasp abstract concepts beyond the control of the teacher after long-term studies and to permanently reinforce what they have learned. Today, there are different options available for auxiliary materials that can solve the problems experienced by students and that the individual can use on their own. The starting point of the research was to bring these materials together and present them to violin students and educators so as to contribute to violin education and enable the targeted behaviors to be learned easily. On this basis, this research aims to classify, bring together and explain the auxiliary materials used in violin education. The research is a descriptive study about the auxiliary materials used in violin education; the survey model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used to conduct the research. In the research, articles, journals, internet searches, music books and theses accessible to the researchers were used to collect data. As a result of the data obtained, the materials were examined in six different groups: auxiliary materials for the violin hold, the bow (arşe) hold, the left-hand position and rhythm teaching, and those used on the bow and on the fingerboard (tuşe). Each material is shown and explained with visual quotations within its own group. In line with the results obtained, it has been suggested that it may be useful to measure the effectiveness of the materials with a sample consisting of a student group.

Keman eğitimi alan veya keman eğitiminin başlangıç aşamasında olan bireylerin uzun süren çalışmalarından sonra öğretmen kontrolü dışında soyut kavramları kavrayacakları ve öğrendiklerini kalıcı olarak pekiştirecekleri yardımcı materyallere ihtiyaç duyacakları düşünülmektedir. Öğrencilerin yaşadıkları problemleri çözebilecek, bireyin de kendi kendine kullanabileceği yardımcı materyaller günümüzde farklı seçeneklerde bulunmaktadır. Keman eğitimine katkı sağlaması ve hedeflenen davranışların kolayca öğrenilmesi açısından bu materyallerin bir araya getirilerek keman öğrencileri ve eğitimcileri ile buluşturulması araştırmanın çıkış noktası olmuştur. Bu yoldan hareketle araştırmada keman eğitiminde kullanılan yardımcı materyalleri sınıflandırıp bir araya getirmek ve açıklamak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma keman eğitiminde kullanılan yardımcı materyaller ile ilgili betimsel bir çalışma olup araştırmanın yürütülmesinde nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada verilerin toplanmasına yönelik araştırmacıların ulaşabildiği makale, dergi, internet tarayıcısı, müzik kitapları ve tez çalışmalarından yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler neticesinde materyaller keman tutuşu, arşe (yay) tutuşu, sol el tutuşu, ritim öğretimi, arşe ve tuşe üzerinde kullanılan yardımcı materyaller olmak üzere altı ayrı grupta incelenmiştir. Her materyal kendi grubu içerisinde görsel alıntılarla gösterilmiş ve açıklanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda materyallerin etkililiğinin öğrenci grubundan oluşan bir örneklem ile ölçülmesinin yararlı olabileceği önerilmiştir.
