Abstract

In sculpture departments, courses with similar content, such as anatomy, artistic anatomy, écorché, morphology or form analysis, are taught throughout undergraduate education. In addition to being included separately in the curriculum, these courses have a strong impact not only within themselves but also in other courses that involve modeling. Cadaver dissection cannot be performed in sculpture departments in Turkey. For this reason, these courses draw on the study of the internal structure of the live model and on various visual materials, enabling students to internalize anatomical structure.

It is known that digital resources have developed considerably today. There are many supporting applications for studying écorché, artistic anatomy and the like. In this study, these applications will be discussed with examples. They will be evaluated in terms of factors such as efficiency, accessibility and ease of use for students under current conditions, and will be illustrated with visuals. The study will then be concluded with an evaluation of the findings on the subject. Throughout the study, current anatomy-related applications and programs that can assist in making sculpture will be evaluated using a qualitative research method. In this way, it has been shown that uninterrupted access to knowledge of correct proportion and morphology is possible without dependence on a live model.
